Tom Balga, a physician assistant for 22 years, is an experienced clinician in emergency medicine, pediatrics, sports medicine and surgery, as well as in developing and implementing simulation laboratories for emergency medicine clinicians.

The Katz School community honors the memory of Mordecai Katz, an engineer and businessman turned investor and philanthropist, whose vision and generosity led to the founding of the Katz School of Science and Health in 2016.

Sivan Tehila, a cybersecurity expert and entrepreneur, has been named director of the in-person and online cybersecurity master's programs for the Katz School of Science and Health.

Aaron Goldmeier, a recent graduate of the M.S. in Digital Marketing and Media program at the Katz School of Science and Health, is an associate on both the digital and video investment teams at the marketing agency, Mindshare.

The Katz School of Science and Health is partnering with ISACA, a global learning organization and technology association, to provide Katz students with educational, training and networking opportunities for cybersecurity careers.

A Katz School paper that devises a theoretical framework for studying the quantum origins of flexoelectricity, a phenomenon in which electric charges scatter within a material after it has been bent, has been published in the Journal of Applied Physics.

Jonathan Deutsch was drawn to Katz for the soft skills -- to learn how to lead people and teams, teach others how to protect themselves from cybersecurity threats and empower others to take their electronic destiny into their own hands.
